Monika Gupta, MD
Monika A. Gupta, MD is a board-certified member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She graduated from the University of Miami with a B.S. in Biology and completed her M.D. at the University of Florida College of Medicine. After a medical internship at Loma Linda University, she completed her Neurology Residency at University of California San Diego, and was given the honor of Chief Resident. She subsequently completed her neuromuscular fellowship at UCSD with subspecialty training in neuromuscular diseases, electromyography/nerve conduction studies, and botulinum toxin use.
Following her training, Dr. Gupta moved to Bakersfield, CA after joining Kaiser Permanente where she started the Neurology Department. After practicing in Kern County for 4.5 years, she relocated to San Diego with her husband, who is an Internal Medicine/Allergy & Immunology physician, and her two young daughters. Dr. Gupta worked in private practice for a year and was then recruited by the University of California San Diego to open a Neurology practice in Temecula. Dr. Gupta was an integral part of starting the stroke and neurology services at Temecula Valley Hospital where she also served as the Stroke Medical Director. She continues her work as a neurohospitalist at Temecula Valley Hospital and is looking forward to servicing the Inland Empire.
She owes much of her passion and interests in Neurology to her father who is also a neurologist in Florida.
