Dr. Unnati Sampat
As a primary care physician, Dr. Sampat provides treatment of acute and chronic diseases for adults and does preventive care. She believes in individualizing care for each patient and keeping the perspective of each patient as a whole person when determining treatment.

Unnati Sampat, MD, FACP, is a Geriatrician and has been practising in Imperial Valley since 2011. She specializes in treating complex medical problems in the elderly population such as dementia (Alzheimer’s and others), Parkinson’s and fall. Dr. Sampat has additional expertise in geriatric cardiology – caring for older adults with heart disease such as congestive heart failure and in treating patients with diabetes.

Dr. Sampat is ably supported by experienced nurse practitioners Victoria Wheaton-Young, NP and Iliana Gomez-Ramirez, NP in her offices in El Centro and Calexico.

A national award-winning medical researcher, Dr. Sampat has authored over a dozen publications. She serves as a reviewer for the American College of Physicians abstract competition, as well as for articles in peer-reviewed journals. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Medical Women’s Association.

She has been recognized by the Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties for her “leadership to improve Geriatric Care for patients in Imperial County” in November 2022. Dr. Sampat has also received the “Best Physician” award from Imperial County’s Medi-Cal health plan.

Dr. Sampat volunteers her time generously. She is currently active in the Local Health Authority of Imperial Valley as a physician representative Commissioner and is the President-elect of the Imperial County Medical Society.

She has privileges at El Centro Regional Medical Center and Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Imperial Valley.

Dr. Sampat enjoys spending her time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys traveling and music.

Besides English and French, she is fluent in six Indian languages and speaks medical Spanish.
